Coach Advancement believes that coaching should be accessible to all. To make this aspiration a reality, we have created an offering that brings coaching to both individuals and organisations that would not have access or resources for coaching otherwise.
Coaching with Conscience (CWC) is a social progress initiative which specialises in offering high-quality coaching and coaching related services in support of positive social impact. CWC exists to have a positive impact on society and our environment through coaching.
Coaching with Conscience was launched on March 18, 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic when the enormity of the impact of the coronavirus was becoming clearer. The initial project provided key workers access to a pro bono virtual coaching package from some of our trained volunteer coaches. Mind, Caterham School and Together Co were all positively impacted by this initiative. You can find a case study of the inaugural Mind project here.
Such was the impact of these coaching engagements, that Mind asked us to provide an annual coaching offering to staff which became known as Coaching For You.

How does Coaching with Conscience work?
The concept of CWC is intended to be a ‘win-win-win-win’!
- The charity or non-profit organisation ‘wins’ because:
- They gain access to fully trained coaches offering high quality coaching for either very low fees or on a fully pro bono basis if there simply is no budget available.
- Any funds that are exchanged for this service go completely to the coach offering the coaching and Coach Advancement provides the funding for the organisation and administration of every project free of charge.
- Apart from the quality of the coaching, the organisation is reassured of the professionalism and integrity of the work as all of the coaches:
- Are members of the International Coaching Federation (ICF)
- Abide by the ICF Code of Ethics
- Hold appropriate professional indemnity and public liability insurance
- Hold, or are actively working towards ,an ICF Credential
- Receive supervision of the coaching they offer to their CWC clients
- At the end of every CWC project, we prepare a case study report (always honouring client confidentiality) which we present to the organisation and which we share on our website to showcase the amazing work the charity or non-profit organisation does for society and how they are investing in their people and their services through the utilisation of coaching.
- The coach ‘wins’ because:
- CWC clients are offered exclusively to the alumni community from Coach Advancement’s ICF Accredited coaching education programmes, giving them an opportunity to undertake very meaningful work with their clients and also be able to log valuable client hours towards their credential pathways at the same time.
- As an added bonus, when we are able to establish some level of financial exchange for the coaching packages, the coach can log the hours as ‘paid’ client work which is very beneficial for coaches actively working towards their client hour thresholds for their credential applications.
- Coaches involved in our CWC projects are given access to free coaching supervision sessions. This not only saves them the cost of paying for that supervision, but they can also log those hours of supervision towards their continuing professional development requirements for their credential renewals. We are also very appreciative that our coaching supervisor very kindly volunteers their services free of charge for this initiative as part of their own contribution to CWC.
- The client ‘wins’ because:
- They have access to high quality coaching, in a supportive, safe and confidential environment which would probably never be available to them if their employer had to pay regular fees for this kind of service. As budgets become tighter and tighter and these socially critical organisations have to make a different with less and less resources, this kind of service becomes ever more vital and valuable.
- Coach Advancement ‘wins’ because:
- We get the opportunity to make a contribution and ‘pay it forward’ in three different ways:
- We help the charities and non-profits keep their services going and to fulfil their missions by supporting their valuable employees to be at their best
- We support the employees to be resourceful, to focus on their own wellbeing being and to find effective strategies to look after themselves, as well as make their best contributions possible to the social progress goals of their organisations.
- We support our valued alumni community by offering them meaningful and valuable coaching opportunities.

How is it going?
So far, we have offered almost 1,000 hours of coaching to at least 236 individuals within the charities and non-profits with whom we partner. ‘Partner’ is the key word here… Whilst we are open to offering these coaching packages as ‘one-off’ projects for specific events or reasons within the organisations, our ideal outcome is to form an on-going partnership with the organisation so that we can offer these packages on a regular or annual basis. In this way, the ripple effect of this wonderful work can be stronger and travel further, into these organisations and have maximum systemic impact. In this way, we change the world…one conversation at a time!
