Attendance of an ICF Accredited Coach-Specific Training Programme
Success in our programmes requires full commitment by all participants. By enrolling a programme, participants agree to being fully present during all sessions and participate to the best of their ability. This includes arriving on time, abiding by the code of conduct, and engaging in course activities. See below for our Programme Engagement and Student Code of Conduct policies.
Several of our programmes are accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and therefore certain attendance criteria apply in order to meet with the ICF’s accreditation requirements as follows:
Level 1 (ACC) Diploma Programme:
Coaching Education Element:
Attendance Policy
- This programme is designed to provide participants with the 60-hours of coach-specific training required for an ICF ACC level credential.
- The programme offers 70.50 hours of ICF Accredited coach-specific training, providing a small “buffer” to allow for unexpected and unavoidable absences.
- However, to receive the full benefit from this development opportunity, it is highly recommended that students take steps to attend the whole course wherever possible.
- Part of these accredited hours includes peer coaching practice in between modules and an element of individual work.
- If a student is not intending to pursue an ICF credential, it doesn’t matter quite so much if some time is missed, however they obviously still potentially miss out on some of the learning.
- If a student misses the practice work with peers in between modules, that will also potentially impact the number of learning hours of their colleagues too, unless those colleagues do extra practice to make up the 3 hours needed in between each module for all students.
- Finally, to receive the ICF Accredited certificate for this programme, each student must be observed by a tutor in their coaching practice at least 5 times across the duration of the programme. This creates a tight schedule and so it is highly recommended that all practice sessions are attended in order for the student to meet this ICF requirement.
Partial Completion (including illness) Policy
- If time does have to be missed for any unavoidable reason, students have a number of options to address this including:
- Completing the remainder of the programme and receiving a certificate reflecting the reduced number of hours completed.
- Making up missed time informally by seeking the support of colleagues to share notes or offer a debrief etc.
- Making up missed time formally with a tutor in order to ensure fulfilment of the required number of hours for ICF requirements (this option may incur additional cost).
- Transferring to a subsequent cohort of the programme. This option depends upon the availability of places on future programmes and the upcoming programme schedule. A programme cohort transfer fee of £150 (plus VAT if applicable) will apply to all transfer requests.
- Should any of the above options also involved the need to organise separate coaching observation opportunities, (in order to maintain the ICF requirement of at least five observations per student across the duration of the programme), additional costs may be incurred.
- If a student does need to miss any attendance of the programme, it is therefore highly recommended and appreciated that the tutor is advised as soon as possible so that they can offer advice and options for how to proceed based upon how much time is going to be missed and what is the nature of the content or practice that will need to be addressed etc.
- Upon completion of the programme an ICF accredited certificate will be issued to reflect the total number of hours that the student attended.
Mentor Coaching Element:
Attendance Policy and Partial Completion (including illness) Policy
- Group Sessions:
- Full attendance of at least seven hours of the live group sessions is a requirement in order to fulfil the International Coaching Federation (ICF) criteria for successful completion of this programme.
- Should you be unable to attend a group session in live format, we will ask you to listen to the webinar you have missed.
- Should attendance of the live group sessions fall below seven hours, a fee of £200 (plus VAT if applicable) per hour is applied to cover the time necessary with one of the Mentor Coaches to make-up the missed learning components and to ensure you meet the live mentoring hours required by the ICF.
- 1-1 Sessions:
- Once the 1-1 sessions are booked, we will allow one re-scheduling of a session free of charge. Subsequent re-scheduling of 1-1 sessions will be subject to an additional fee of £200 (plus VAT if applicable) per session.
Performance Evaluation Element:
Once recording(s) and associated transcript(s) are submitted, we aim to review and evaluate them within 4-weeks of receipt.
Level 2 (PCC) Advanced Diploma Programme:
Coaching Education Element:
Attendance Policy
- Completion of this programme is designed to provide participants with the 125-hours of coach-specific training required for an ICF PCC level credential.
- This is on the basis of them having already previously completed the Science and Art of Coaching Programme or another similar ACC level programme that fulfils the ICF requirement of 60-hours of coach-specific training.
- The programme offers 159.75 hours of ICF Accredited coach-specific training, providing a “buffer” to allow for unexpected and unavoidable absences.
- However, to receive the full benefit from this development opportunity, it is highly recommended that students take steps to attend the whole course wherever possible.
