Working with Neurodiversity in Coaching Certificate

Virtual CPD Programme

This five-part modular series explores essential themes related to coaching in the neurodiverse space. Each session stands alone, offering valuable insights on its own, while together they provide a deep and comprehensive exploration of the key issues that shape coaching in this area.

Attend all five modules to earn a Working with Neurodiversity in Coaching Certificate.

Module 1: “The Autumn Lecture” – Neurodiversity and the Brain

20 October 2025, 2 – 4pm (London time)

This is an information session giving a straightforward understanding of neurodiversity and the brain. You will gain:

  • an understanding of the vocabulary around neurodiversity
  • a working understanding of each neurodiverse trait
  • a very generalised overview of the key characteristics of each trait
  • some basic neuroscientific principles that are useful to hold an awareness of to deepen an understanding of these traits
  • understanding around the significant impact of mental health and well-being on neurodiversity

Module  2: Coaching Approaches to support our Neurodiverse Clients

10 November 2025, 2 – 4pm (London time)

This will be a discursive and interactive session, where we will discuss:

  • what approaches are particularly useful
  • what appraches are potentially unhelpful
  • case studies to deepen our understanding of how and why we, as coaches, need to be aware, develop our active listening skills and question in a neurodiverse sensitive manner
  • raising awareness of some of the micro-incivilities that can occur

Module 3: What are the Ethical, Moral and Respectful considerations to ensure we remain Professional and work with Integrity?

8 December 2025, 2 – 4pm (London time)

This will be a practical session, with case studies to discuss and debate, to help us consider:

  • where is the boundary between neurodiversity and mental health?
  • what is the link to trauma, and do we need to manage this?
  • how do we approach issues such as emotional dysregulation, rejection sensitivity and hyper sensitivity in a moral and ethical way?

Module 4: The work we need to do as “self – the practitioner” to grow, develop and inhabit the coaching space.

12 January 2026, 2 – 4pm (London time)

This session will focus on ourselves as coaches to help us navigate the neurodiverse space with greater ease and empathy. It will be discursive with case studies to allow us to explore:

  • our own biases and tendencies
  • how we create good presence
  • how we manage our own unique brain to enter the coaching space with integrity
  • what we need to learn about ourselves to be better coaches

Module 5: Neurodiversity Clinic

9 February 2026, 2 – 4pm (London time)

This session will be a chance for each participant to raise their own examples, questions, difficulties and explore them in a safe space with peers. It will be part mentoring, part supervision and part troubleshooting. It will present an opportunity to bring all the learning from the previous sessions together and continue the discussions moving forwards.

Programme Format

Each module will be a 2-hour virtual session.

Mandy Dennison, PCC is a coach, trainer, mentor and facilitator. She works with organisations and individuals to help them realise their full potential.

Realising people, rather than labs, was her passion, she then moved into the Education sector, as a teacher first, rising to Senior Leader, Coach for management training and OFSTED Inspector supporting school improvement, by working with teams and individuals. Mandy is a tutor and mentor for those training to become ICF accredited coaches. She is described as bringing energy, passion and humility to her role. She is enthusiastic about others joining the coaching industry and as such is encouraging whilst maintaining an adherence to the standards and ethics of coaching practice. She has also been on the Board of the UK chapter of the ICF as the Director of Engagement, as she believes in giving back and supporting others on their journey.

Mandy regularly coaches in a one-to-one capacity in the Neurodiversity field, an area of real passion, where she supports those at all levels from junior employees, through to C-Suite to develop a deeper understanding of themselves. (She also delivers organisational training around this area.) She also carries out leadership coaching and personal coaching.

Mandy also has experience in working with organisations to develop a “coaching culture” and to train managers and leaders into a “coaching style”.
